Hello there 👋

For a quite a while now (6 months I think), I've been thinking of starting this blog, sharing what I find interesting about Counter Strike, and more specifically, around skins.

Little backstory about me: I've played CS since 25th December 2006, so it'll be 20 years this christmas. I remember it very clearly, my parents offered me a bicycle and CS:Source for my Christmas/14th Birthday (coming few days later), and guess what: I barely touched that bike 🤣. For the youngest amongst you, yes, back then you could "offer" Counter Strike, by buying it (YES) in the local shop and installing it with a disc (good old times 🦕)

I got hooked big time into the game, played it through my 14-18years old quite a while, but back then, there was no skins market, the only skins that we could use were downloaded from exotic websites like gamebanana.com, and we would often end up being an ERROR cube instead of Lara Croft in the middle of dust2.

Then, I went to university and because I wanted to study hard and learn a lot, I decided to stop playing. (Or maybe it was because my student room in the university dorm didn't have a decent internet connection, we'll never know I guess.) Basically, I've stopped when CS:GO went out, take or leave a few months.

Quick-skip through the years, I've been away from the game for 6-8years I'd say, till that day in late 2021 where I noticed my colleague at work was watching replays from the Stockholm 2021 Major, and decided to discuss it with him. Decide to play it again, and that was it, I got hooked back again, maybe from nostalgia of having absolutely no responsibility of anything back then at 14yo, maybe because I finally understood a bit how to play the game instead of just rush b blyat.

Anyway, I then got interested into the whole skins world that I was (re)discovering, its market/financial approach that was totally new for me, and I feel that I know maybe 0.1% of all stories behind those skins. Hence this blog, using it as an excuse to spend more time learning about the game, its stories, its ideas, its failures and big victories, and sharing them to the world to discover them as well.
